Wondai 16.9.21

We are going to Wondai for a few days camping and cycling with Greg and Wendy.  Unfortunately Yvonne and Gunther couldn't make it.

The farewell committee.

Trees in flower in Murgon.
Camped beside the silos at the Wondai free camp.
The old butter factory looks like it's been shown a little love.
Walked up to the Cecil Hotel for dinner.
Fri, 17.9.21
BoM says it was 5.1°c at 6.30 this morning when I went for a short walk.
Our camp spot.
Rode in to Murgon and back on the rail trail ~28kms

After a quick rest and refreshments at our van we wandered around Wondai.

A couple of signs around town

I went for a short ride in the afternoon but was attacked by a very persistent magpie. I copped about 8 smacks in the head, including 1 just above the arm of my glasses.

Sat 18.9.21
Short walk around town before Wendy and I rode to Wooroolin and back. 14kms with a slight tail win and a constant slight upwards gradient & 14 kms with a strong headwind on the home run. Mark and Greg rode further on to Kingaroy, 64kms.

Went for a couple more short walks around town this afternoon and had an unexpected visit from Carol and Amelia.
Indian take away for our last supper.
Sun 19.9.21
Went for an early walk ~2.5kms

It's been a great quick trip away. Despite the head wind yesterday the weather has been perfect, cool at night and warm during the day. We head home today via Hervey Bay to meet a school friend of Marks for lunch.

Total travelled hitched ~440 kms
Walked ~15 kms
Rode~61kms
